Dr. Steven Bailey received his B.A. from the University of Oregon, his Medical Degree from the University of Oregon Health Science Center at Portland, and completed residency and cardiology fellowship at Fitzsimmons Army Medical Center in Aurora, CO. He is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine with subspecialty board certification in both Cardiovascular Disease and Interventional Cardiology. He completed an MHA in 2024. Dr. Bailey is a Professor of Medicine and Cardiology and the past Chairman of the Department of Medicine at LSU Shreveport, and Malcolm Feist Endowed Chair of Interventional Cardiology. He is also a Tenured and Emeritus Professor of Medicine and Radiology and a previous Chief of the Janey and Dolph Briscoe, Jr. Division of Cardiology at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. His clinical focus is in Adult Congenital/Structural and Valvular heart disease, as well as Coronary Atherosclerotic Disease, both epicardial and microvascular. Dr. Bailey is Past President of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (SCAI), immediate past Editor-in-Chief of Catheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions, and a Master of SCAI, Master of ACP, Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, and a Fellow of the American Heart Association. He provides all aspects of interventional cardiology procedures, including cardiac catheterization and coronary stent placement, and practices in both the San Antonio and Gonzales offices.
