Megan Barnwell, MD

Dr. Megan Barnwell is Board Certified in Cardiovascular Disease. She received her MD from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, MD, and completed her Cardiovascular Disease fellowship at San Antonio Military Medical Center (SAMMC), Fort Sam Houston. She had a distinguished military career as a cardiologist, rising to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. During her military service, Dr. Barnwell provided cardiology care to active duty and retired military personnel, served as attending cardiologist for the SAMMC Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship programs, served as Chief of the Cardiology Clinic, and completed a tour at Camp Arifjan, Kuwait as Chief of Inpatient Medicine and Cardiology. In her final four years on active duty, she served as Medical Director for General Officer Executive Health for the Army and Air Force worldwide, directing the executive health program for the highest-level active-duty officers in the United States Military. Dr. Barnwell practices in both the San Antonio and Seguin offices. In her free time, she enjoys running and gardening, as well as spending time with her husband, Rob, and three children, Jack, Gracie, and Gavin.
